Where to Get Your Out-of-Warranty iOS Device Fixed

Apple users with out-of-warranty iPhones or iPads in need of repairs now have a lot more options available to them via the company’s recently expanded independent repairs program.

Previously, Apple users had to get their gadgets serviced either through their local Apple Store or a company in Apple’s Approved Service Provider (AASP) program. While Apple has expanded many of these locations in recent months—including all US Best Buy stores—third-party companies can apply to be a part of the Independent Repair Provider (IRP) program, which grants them access to Apple’s technical training materials, diagnostics tools, and special shipping on genuine replacements parts directly from Apple. Similarly, independent servicers can apply for the Self-Servicing Account (SSA) program, which offers same benefits as the Independent RepairsProvider program, but only allows companies to service iOS devices they directly own or lease. Companies and independent technicians can Apply for the IRP or SSA programs online.

While customers can’t apply to perform repairs themselves, both programs make it easier for businesses to receive official Apple repair certification, which means more companies will be able to fix our broken Macs, iPhones, and other Apple devices. Here’s how to find the options available near you:

  5. Use the search bar to search for nearby repair locations. All certified repair options will show up on the map.
